Oh, why am I up past midnight on a school night? It’s totally Santa’s fault. Santa brought me an Instant Pot…AND… I’ve been going through a new cookbook to do some meal prep for January. The little black pot reminded me of Strega Nona for some reason… except there’s a problem. I recently wrote the words “LOW CARB” at the top of my New Year’s Resolution list. Soooo, there won’t be a lot of pasta in my immediate future. Yawn… on a happy note, I know what we’re having for dinner tomorrow tonight. Zzzzz…. #lovestreganona #lovemynewinstantpot
But I digress… I’m here to find out if YOUR library students returned from winter break… with absolutely no memory of library rules! (Yeah… we’re definitely needing a little refresher course in my library.) Sigh.
So… I’m using Pat Miller’s book — Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolutions as the catalyst for my mid-year review of library rules. After we read, I’ll be sharing a slide show with two cute little squirrels who are trying to make good resolutions — just like the squirrel in the story!
These squirrels are especially helpful fellows to me because they are making resolutions about book care and behaving in the library! (Okay, they get a little mixed up on a few of the rules, but I’m betting that my students will be quick to straighten them out!)
This slide show makes such a fun library lesson. I love how it gets my students giggling — and my point across — at the same time! Win-Win-Win — just like Strega Nona’s three kisses! Click the link below to see the preview on That Library Girl.
