Time for research? Help your students understand website evaluation using my simple C.A.K.E. model. This library lesson will help your kids spot elements of dependable, trustworthy resources. During the lesson, students will consider an informational text entry to see whether or not it is Current, Accurate, Kid-Friendly, and Easy-to-Use. They’ll also investigate to determine whether or not an author is the expert on cake that she appears to be! Recommended for grade 3 and up.
The resource includes:
– a colorful PowerPoint lesson (in PPT and PDF formats)
– a slide-by-slide script with lesson tips
– an assessment pack that includes activities and a quiz
– a set of C.A.K.E. cards to be printed in color or black and white.
Help your students realize that web evaluation is a piece of C.A.K.E.!
